Angelina Raina (she/her) is the Director of Policy on the 2026-2027 CASA Board of Directors. She is a student in the Combined Honors program in Political Science and Economics at the University of Alberta. Angelina brings a strong interest in political theory, governance, and human rights to her academic and advocacy work. Alongside her studies, she has developed a growing passion for coding, particularly as it relates to economic analysis and data-driven policy.
Angelina has held a range of leadership roles focused on amplifying student voices and strengthening democratic engagement. She previously served as Chair of the City of Edmonton Youth Council, where she led initiatives examining community wellbeing, public spending, and access to social services. She has also worked as a Page at the Alberta Legislature and continues to be actively involved in advocacy spaces that center youth perspectives in decision-making.
In addition to her role as the University of Alberta Students' Union Vice-President External, Angelina serves as the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations (CASA) Policy Director. In this role, she is working to strengthen policy literacy across the organization, helping student leaders better understand and engage with the policy development process. She is also leading efforts to modernize CASA's policy manual by updating outdated policies and developing new ones that reflect the issues students face today, ensuring the organization's advocacy remains relevant, evidence-based, and responsive to the needs of post-secondary students in Canada.
Outside of her academic and advocacy work, Angelina enjoys making origami and is always looking for increasingly intricate designs to try. She values collaboration and believes the strongest advocacy comes from listening to students' lived experiences.
