CASA provides a provincial and federal political update of issues affecting campuses across the country.

10:00am - 10:45am A Year In Review

CASA’s board of directors will provide a review of CASA’s work in 2018-2019, with specific focus on major projects, core operations and campaigns.

11:00am - 12:00pm Committee Work Participatory Activity

Committee will work together to develop a year map of the work they have done over the past year and the direction they hope the next committee will take.  Questions will consider: What did you deliver? What did you miss? And what would you like to pass on to the incoming committee.

12:00pm - 1:00pm- SMUSA Tour

Members will travel to member host St.Mary’s Campus for a tour of the Student Association.

CASA staff will provide an overview of Budget 2019 and provide options for action.

4:00pm - 5:00pm- Committee Restructuring Update/ College Action Plan

Board of directors will present the College Action Plan they have been tasked to work on from Advocacy Week.  They will go over the implementation plan including the suggested committee restructuring suggestions.

5:00pm - 6:00pm Observer Roundtable

Observers are invited to this session to touch base with staff and board on their experiences thus far and answer any questions.

CASA’s Board of Directors will provide the membership with an update on the Board Action Plan.

 

9:45am - 10:15am Voluntary Student Unionism (VSU) Individual Reflection Activity

An individual reflection led by CASA’s Executive Director on the impact of VSU in Canada.

In this silent conversation members will have an opportunity to share value they bring to campuses across the country.

CASA’s Board of Directors will provide an update on the negotiation of the Quebec Student Union partnership.

1:30pm - 2:15pm Roses and Thorns Participatory Activity

CASA’s board of director will lead a reflection of what worked and did not work in the previous year, with a focus on wins and areas for improvement.

2:15pm - 3:15pm GOTV 2019 Participatory Activity

CASA Board and Staff will provide an overview and run a brainstorming session on CASA’s Get Out the Vote campaign.

3:15pm - 4:00pm Build Your Own Foundations Participatory Activity

CASA’s delegates will work in teams of five (5) to construct a conference schedule for CASA’s Foundations 2019 conference. Foundations is the first conference for many CASA delegates and making sure that they are provided with the right information is essential for ensuring a successful year.  Delegates will be called on to think back to their own experiences throughout the year and to help design the conference that will run in May.

CASA’s delegates are invited to the end of the year reception dinner.  CASA’s Board will also announce the winners of CASA’s awards for 2018-2019.

 

March 22nd

 

9:00am - 10:00am CASA Financial Update and YE2020 Budget

CASA’s Treasurer will provide an update on CASA’s actuals and present the YE2020 Budget.

Delegates who submitted for GOTV Regional conference will have the opportunity to present their bid to the membership for consideration.

CASA’s members conduct the business of the conference in a formal meeting session. Note: Observers are welcome, though they may be asked to leave the room should the meeting go in-camera.
