As Director-At-Large for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Spirit River is excited to work on improving the competency of student leaders in their work on effectively representing the interests of Indigenous students externally and within their own institutions.

Spirit River Striped Wolf is from the Piikani First Nation of the Blackfoot Confederacy in southern Alberta. He is the President for the Students' Association of Mount Royal University in Calgary Alberta and is the first person of Indigenous ancestry to hold this office. He is in his fourth year in the Bachelor of Arts program with a major in Policy Studies. Spirit River was a Student Governor for his student association, and has done extensive work in student services. He has dedicated his life to improving the conditions of Indigenous Peoples through advocacy, activism, volunteering, and leadership initiatives. He, along with a professor, co-founded a social enterprise called Otahpiaaki which focuses on supporting and empowering Indigenous entrepreneurs and realizing the National Aboriginal Economic Development Board’s report: "Reconciliation: Growing Canada’s Economy by $27.7 Billion."
