Samuel is the Policy and Research Analyst at the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations (CASA). Originally from Fredericton, NB, Samuel graduated from St. Thomas University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in History, Political Science, and Philosophy before completed his Master of Arts at the University of Ottawa’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs in 2020. His research has focused on understanding the relationship between the state and its citizenry, specifically the role of memory, discourse, and memorialization in nation building and policy development. While attending St. Thomas, Samuel served two terms as Vice-President Education on the St. Thomas University Students’ Union, where he also served as Director of Policy on CASA’s Board of Directors. He also worked at the New Brunswick Student Alliance as the Policy and Research Analyst, as well as serving as Interim Executive Director.
Beyond academia and student leadership, Samuel is an avid reader, sports fan, and podcast listener, and is not-so-subtly obsessed with his cat, Daisy.
