Policy and Research Analyst
Phil is the Policy and Research Analyst for the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations (CASA). He completed a Bachelor’s Degree in microbiology in a co-op program. He then moved one to his Masters which has been fast-tracked into a Ph.D. in food safety. In 2016, he put his academics on hold to become a full-time student representative for the next four years. Phil was in charge of graduate studies and research affairs, before being the President of the Quebec Student Union for the 2019-2020 term. Through the years, Phil has worked on many topics affecting accessibility to post-secondary studies such as mental health, copyright issues, open access, immigration, research funding and much more. He developed policies around these issues and had the chance to improve the lives of post-secondary students. During his spare time, he tries to find the perfect balance between sports and geek hobbies."!
