Saint Mary’s University Students’ Association
Bryn de Chastelain is the President of the Saint Mary’s University Students’ Association (SMUSA). He is a fourth-year Bachelor of Arts student with a double major in Political Science and Economics. He has been heavily involved in Model UN and has advocated extensively for mental health resources on his campus. He is returning to student politics this year, having served as the SMUSA VP Academic and Advocacy and the CASA Director of Policy in 2019-2020. Bryn is originally from Ontario and looks forward to working alongside students from across the country in advocating for student interests.
As the Chair of CASA for the 2020-2021 year, Bryn is keen to pursue innovative solutions to existing and emerging student issues. He is committed to advocating for post-secondary education of the highest quality, that prioritizes accessibility and affordability for all students. Bryn looks forward to advocating on a range of topics, including work-integrated learning, financial aid, and resources for equity-seeking student populations. He is interested in amplifying the student voice and is dedicated to raising concerns to relevant stakeholders. Bryn looks forward to engaging CASA’s membership and students across the country as we continue to support and work for students.
