Originally from Montréal, MacAndrew is bilingual in English and French and holds a B.A. in Political Science and Music from Carleton University.

MacAndrew has extensive experience engaging in advocacy and politics. Some of his work has involved fighting for social justice initiatives in at-risk neighbourhoods, and advocating for non-profit organizations who aim to help groups like students, racialized people, and youth. MacAndrew has also worked on numerous federal election campaigns, volunteered for political parties, and held various leadership positions in schools and communities in Montréal, Ottawa, and Toronto.

Aside from work, MacAndrew enjoys DJ-ing, playing the piano, reading books, watching documentaries, following basketball, and spending time with his wife watching movies and plays.
